I truly believed they hated each other during certain scenes and the fear a man like Ace puts in the heart of Ginger is truly reflected in her acting and in De Niro's stern looks. I think Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone together had such incredible on-screen chemistry. She manages to look experienced, naive, and calculating at the same time when she realizes he's for real. His life is gambling, he breathes it and eats it every day, and at this time, he's so confident he can change Ginger that he just bets it all on a less-than-sure thing (to say the least).
